After my post about violence, I saw a fight break out on my run yesterday. It knocked the wind out of me and I almost teared up at the awful nastiness that was displayed between human beings. It sounds strange, but I am thankful that things like that still affect me (#364). I called the police, feeling like it was my civic duty, even though it was after the fact. I am so thankful to have 911 (#365), to have police respond fairly quickly to concerns (#366), and that I could avoid being in the middle of the fight (#367).
