The holidays

Thus far, it seems as if my wish of snowing in Arizona's best resident (in my personal opinion) seems to be working.  We are under a winter storm warning and almost everything is closed.

I think that this is a sign to study for my GRE.

From the last week or so:

1041.  Random kindness of a stranger.  A knock at the door last night from someone who saw the dome light in my car was on.
1042.  My mom's scrap booking habit.  The gene wasn't passed down, but her vacation one is turning out nicely.
1043.  Not getting sick over Christmas.  (Seemed to be the thing to do.)
1044.  50 degrees in Dec.  It feels like a vacation at home.
1045.  Blogging while waiting in the customer service line.
1046.  Finally getting my car cleaned out.

Christmas with my grandparents was at their Assisted Living Facility.  Let's not sugar coat it:  my grandma is bad.  Her Alzheimer's and continued falling has just exacerbated her cognitive decline.  The prognosis is not good, the words are few, and we recognize that this cannot continue much longer.

1047.  A great Christmas with my grandparents.
1048.  A cardboard tube, a bin of balls, and an open space=baseball games
1049.  Gleaning photography tips from my aunt and uncle.
1050.  Having a family who loves and cares for each other.
1051.  My cousins officially getting off without a hitch to Israel and the Philippines in the middle of this winter storm.
1052.  Not having to exchange presents to have a good Christmas with my family

1053.  A great New Year's with my sister.

Have a great start to 2014.

It's going to be a good year.  (Plus, I like even numbers.)
