This weekend, we went to Ohio to watch my sister and new brother-in-law open their wedding presents and assist them into settling into my aunt's basement. They are creating quite a cozy little place down there, right next to my cousins' Rock Band and an exercise bike (which is soon to be removed). It was a good weekend, but I read and slept a lot. I am still in recovery mode, I think. This summer has been exhausting. I just don't want it to trickle by without really enjoying it.
On the way back, we had a little mishap with our car top carrier. Yes, we did lose something (my new running shoes and my dad's hygiene kit, which we retrieved only to be all torn up and nasty), but the exciting part of this was the fact that I was picked up by the police for walking on the highway. As I excited the back of a police car for the second time in my life (the first being my accident a few years ago), I couldn't help but laugh as I was pulling up my pants. (I had to loan my belt to the cause of keeping the car top carrier closed.)
